![]() ![]() After this happening a couple of times I saw that my solution wasn't reliable and ended up buying an external SSD for use as my Time Machine default disc. I did a new install of the Mac OS and it worked, but after a while it would get stuck at some random point and I needed to reinstall everything again. It started by getting slower and slower and at some point it wouldn't even start, getting stuck on the white screen. I have an iMac from mid 2011 (27") and I started having issues a couple of years ago. IMac stuck on white screen again and again Hi, I made a Genius Bar Appointment today and was told my device is obsolete and they would not even look at it. My students and I depend on it! Thank you so much in advance. What do I need to do to get my computer up and running again. When I try to Reinstall Mac OS High Sierra, it will not let me select "Time Machine" which is what my internal drive apparently was renamed too. When I go to the Apple Icon in the top left and select Startup Disk nothing is there to select. The Internal Drive is now called Time Machine. After all was said and done I restarted the computer. From Disk Utility I then clicked Restore and selected my Time Machine backup. From there I ran First Aid on my Internal Drive. I restarted my computer in Recovery Mode and ran Disc Utility. I shut the computer down and didn't think much of it until Sunday. On Friday my 2011 iMac crashed on me during Zoom with my class.
