![]() The intelligent humor continues to gain prominence while the more "gore" part is only presented when necessary, which makes the viewer understand that the series is still in control of itself, without the need to introduce meaningless comedic moments. This new season delivers a more refreshing mood, possibly due to the series' attempt to adapt to the new "airs" that the production has taken. Given a little context of the entire journey that the new season has undergone throughout this year, I can say that this new duo played an incredible role in recreating the voices of the protagonists, as at no point was the change in voice actors noticeable. However, in October this year it was revealed that voice actors Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden had been chosen as the new representatives of the duo Rick and Morty respectively. This news led to the actor's dismissal and a possible cancellation of the series. Earlier this year, one of the series' creators and the main voice actor of the protagonist duo, Justin Roiland, was accused of domestic violence. Not so much within the series but in its production. ![]() At the very least, the season 5 premiere is a memorably entertaining entry into this long-running animated series.Rick and Morty return another year for their new 10-episode adventures. For now, those are just moments, and all they do is hint, but that might be enough to carry the show through another season. “Mort Dinner Rick Andre” shines most in moments that hint at broader implications for the show. In the process, she becomes a “time god” who just wants to be friends with Morty. Jessica is pulled, literally, into the Morty/cow-people conflict. At least one consequence of the war might carry over into other episodes. The escalating war is played out with the expertise of a show that’s run with this type of plot before, which really just means it’s as entertaining as ever. As Morty makes more and more attempts at scoring a bottle of wine for himself and Jessica, the bovine society on the other side of the portal develops further. Others would stand by the maxim, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it". Some might feel that “Mort Dinner Rick Andre” is doing little more than retreading old ground.
